Project Description
2 Penn Plaza is located in the heart of Manhattan between 31st and 34th street and Seventh and Eighth Avenue. The 32 story commercial building has direct access to world famous Madison Square Garden and Penn Station. Redevelopment of 2 Penn Plaza will begin in 2020, which will include major expansion and renovation around the base of the building. UBS will provide shed construction, hoist installation, and other protections on-site to assist with development. Four sidewalk bridges will be installed up around the plaza. 320 ft of sidewalk bridge will be put up on either side of MSG from 31st to 33rd street. Another 320 ft of bridge will be installed up of MSG VIP entrances off 31st and 33rd street, including fencing on the interior. 225 ft of bridge on 31st street will have jersey barriers on the exterior. 480 ft of bridge will be put up on 7th avenue with fencing on the interior and safety barriers with chain link fencing on the exterior. Heavy-duty overhead protection will run up over the NJ transit entrance of Penn station at the corner of 7th Ave and 31st street. A 7,000 lb-capacity dual hoist will cover 410 ft in total from the ground to the roof, while only servicing the second, tenth, thirteenth and 30th floor in between.Select Project
